Accounts Officer The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on and detail-oriented Accounts Officer to gain exposure across AP and AR duties. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll support month-end reporting, payroll processing, and transactional accounting.
 
This position is initially offered on a temporary basis with a strong possibility to become permanent for the right candidate.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Support month-end and year-end processes including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare and process supplier invoices, staff reimbursements, and payment runs.
  • Manage employee expense claims and corporate credit card reconciliations.
  • Process end-to-end payroll on a fortnightly basis, ensuring accuracy and compliance with awards and legislation.
  • Prepare and lodge superannuation, PAYG, payroll tax, and related payroll compliance obligations.
  • Assist with BAS preparation and ad-hoc financial reporting.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Assist the Finance Manager with ad hoc projects and process improvements.
About You
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (or working towards qualification).
  • Part-qualified CPA or CA (or working towards).
  • 1-3 years' experience in accounting, ideally with exposure to payroll.
  • Working knowledge of Xero
  • Strong Excel and data reconciliation skills.
  • Sound understanding of payroll processes and Australian employment legislation.
  • High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Positive, proactive, and eager to learn in a dynamic business environment.
