Accounts Officer
The Role This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on and detail-oriented Accounts Officer to gain exposure across AP and AR duties. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll support month-end reporting, payroll processing, and transactional accounting.
This position is initially offered on a temporary basis with a strong possibility to become permanent for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Support month-end and year-end processes including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations.
Prepare and process supplier invoices, staff reimbursements, and payment runs.
Manage employee expense claims and corporate credit card reconciliations.
Process end-to-end payroll on a fortnightly basis, ensuring accuracy and compliance with awards and legislation.
Prepare and lodge superannuation, PAYG, payroll tax, and related payroll compliance obligations.
Assist with BAS preparation and ad-hoc financial reporting.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Assist the Finance Manager with ad hoc projects and process improvements.
About You
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (or working towards qualification).
Part-qualified CPA or CA (or working towards).
1-3 years' experience in accounting, ideally with exposure to payroll.
Working knowledge of Xero
Strong Excel and data reconciliation skills.
Sound understanding of payroll processes and Australian employment legislation.
High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
