Bookkeeper
Bookkeeper – Client Services Role A well-established mid-sized accounting firm located in Melbourne is currently seeking a full-time Bookkeeper to join their client services team. With a workforce of nearly 100 professionals, the firm offers a diverse range of services including accounting, audit, and advisory support.
About the Role You’ll be working directly with senior team members, managing a portfolio of clients, including one international client with Australian-based staff. This client has specific and time-sensitive reporting needs, so attention to detail and time zone awareness is crucial.
Key Responsibilities - Manage payroll using platforms such as Xero, MYOB, and QuickBooks
- Prepare monthly and quarterly IAS/BAS submissions
- Perform full-function bookkeeping: accounts payable, receivable, superannuation, Workcover, payroll tax, and other statutory tasks
- Handle account reconciliations, journal entries, and general data entry
- Use NetSuite software for bookkeeping and workflow management
- Liaise with clients and relevant authorities professionally
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of services
- Maintain organized and up-to-date electronic filing of client records
About You You will be a self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with a commitment to service quality. The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of 2 years of Australian bookkeeping experience
- Previous experience within professional services
- Relevant Australian bookkeeping certification or qualifications
- Proven experience in payroll processing
- Ideally, prior experience using NetSuite
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A collaborative and dependable nature
- Effective problem-solving and task coordination abilities
