Family lawyer We are representing a leading mid-tier commercial law firm with a highly respected Family Law practice seeking to appoint an Associate to join its Sydney team.
  
This role offers the opportunity to work on complex parenting and property matters, including high-net-worth financial cases, relocation issues, and sensitive family disputes. You will work closely with experienced Partners in a supportive, inclusive team environment that values excellence, collaboration, and client care.
  
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a varied caseload of family law matters, including complex parenting, financial, and property disputes.
  • Represent clients in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, including appearances at procedural hearings, conciliation conferences, and mediations.
  • Prepare and draft clear, concise legal documents including applications, affidavits, and financial agreements.
  • Maintain regular communication and build strong client relationships through proactive file management.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver strategic and practical outcomes for clients.
  • Manage time recording, billing, and compliance requirements efficiently.
  
About You
  • Minimum 2 years’ post-admission experience in family law within a reputable private practice.
  • Confident in managing your own matters under supervision.
  • Strong drafting, advocacy, and communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational ability and attention to detail.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented approach and genuine client focus.
  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and initiative.
