What You'll Be Doing
As a key contributor, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a diverse client portfolio across key Sunshine Coast industries, focusing on tax compliance, planning, and advisory services for sophisticated SMEs, trusts, partnerships, and high-net-worth individuals.
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements, complex income tax returns, BAS/IAS statements, and FBT returns.
- Providing strategic and complex tax advice and business recommendations to clients to optimise their growth within the local economy.
- Mentoring and supporting junior accounting staff, reviewing their work, and fostering their professional development.
- Driving process and technology improvements to enhance efficiency across the firm.
- Building and maintaining strong, commercial relationships with key local stakeholders.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for a motivated professional with:
- CA/CPA qualification (essential).
- 4+ years of experience in Australian Public Practice Accounting, specifically at a Senior Accountant level or above.
- Exceptional knowledge of Australian taxation law (Income Tax Assessment Acts, GST, CGT, FBT).
- Proven ability to manage a full client portfolio independently.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a professional, client-focused demeanour suited to a high-growth environment.
- Proficiency with modern accounting software (experience with Specify Software, e.g., Xero, HandiSoft, MYOB is highly regarded).
