Due to consistent growth on the Sunshine Coast, an opportunity exists for a technically proficient and leadership-ready Senior Accountant to join the Business Services division.
The Role:
This is a hands-on leadership position designed for a professional who excels in complex technical accounting and team mentorship. The successful candidate will manage a diverse client portfolio, oversee workflow planning, and ensure high standards of quality control across all deliverables.
The role involves playing a key part in the professional development of junior and intermediate staff, providing a clear pathway toward a management position.
Key Responsibilities Client Engagement & Advisory - Manage an established client portfolio as the primary point of contact for business services.
- Prepare and review financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals.
- Deliver strategic tax advice, including tax planning, restructuring, and compliance.
- Proactively identify advisory and value-add opportunities to support client growth.
Review & Quality Assurance: - Review and sign off on compliance work prepared by the wider accounting team.
- Oversee the accuracy of BAS, IAS, and complex payroll obligations.
- Ensure all outputs align with established firm systems and professional accounting standards.
Leadership & Workflow Management: - Manage job scheduling, budgets, and capacity planning for the assigned team.
- Provide consistent mentorship, feedback, and technical training to junior staff members.
- Contribute to internal business improvement and innovation initiatives.
Required Qualifications & Experience - CA or CPA qualification is essential.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience within an Australian public practice environment.
- Deep technical knowledge of tax legislation and various business structures.
- Proven ability to lead a team and maintain rigorous quality standards.
- Proficiency in Xero and related cloud accounting ecosystems.
