We are exclusively recruiting on behalf of a highly respected global accounting and advisory firm (Our Client) for a critical Senior Auditor role in their thriving Audit division. This is a chance to move beyond execution into coaching, quality assurance, and ethical leadership.
  
The Opportunity: Senior Auditor   
Based in Cairns, NTH QLD, this role reports directly to a Partner. As a Senior Auditor, you will be responsible for conducting audit processes and procedures under supervision. You will play an integral role in the firm, working to elevate its reputation through values-driven performance and exceptional client service.
    
Key Responsibilities:  
  • Audit Execution & Quality: Conduct audit processes, ensuring all matters are completed in accordance with relevant standard practices and the BDO Australia's System of Quality Management (SOQM) standards.
      
      
  • Leadership & Coaching: Provide assistance, advice, and on-the-job training and support to junior staff to encourage learning and development. Display coaching skills, motivating and developing staff, and challenging them to extend their abilities.
      
      
  • Risk & Ethics: Practice appropriate ethics and independence. Swiftly identify independence and ethics issues and promptly raise them with the most appropriate person.
      
      
  • Client Management: Liaise effectively regarding various issues, always providing a high quality of service to clients.
      
  • Operational Excellence: Manage self under limited guidance, achieve goals, and maintain high performance levels while continuously undertaking tasks with strong attention to detail.  
What You'll Bring 
  • Experience: Relevant experience as an Auditor within an Australian Public Practice firm.
  • Qualifications: CAANZ or CPA qualification or currently studying
  • Education: Degree qualified (Bachelor of Business/Commerce/Law or other approved degree).
      
  • Technical Skills:
    • Intermediate level of competency using the Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Power BI, Co-pilot, Teams, and Outlook.
        
    • Intermediate level of competency using client software like Xero, MYOB Suite, QuickBooks, and Reckon.
        
    • Intermediate level of competency using BDO Digital Audit Suite.
        
  • Logistical: A current driver's licence and access to a vehicle are required to travel to client sites. This role may require some work outside of the immediate Cairns area.
