We are partnering with a thriving, mid-sized Public Practice firm (Our Client) that is actively investing in efficiency and growth. They are seeking a pivotal Senior Manager to run a dedicated 'pod' and lead the elevation of client service and internal processes.

Our Client is a modern, established firm with a highly collaborative environment.

• Team Size: 30 in-office staff
• Offshore Support: 6 offshore staff (Philippines) dedicated to marketing, A/P, A/R, bookkeeping, SMSF, and general accounting support (note: mixed success at the accounting level, requiring strong onshore management)
• Culture: Focused on increasing sophistication and efficiency across the entire firm

  
The Opportunity: Senior Manager  
This is a key leadership role where you will be entrusted with running an entire client service team. You will be given a significant level of autonomy to drive results and efficiency.
  
Key Responsibilities   
  
Pod Leadership & Management   

• Team Structure: Run and lead a team consisting of 2 bookkeepers and 5 Accountants
• Operational Management: Take full responsibility for managing the teams workflow, Work-In-Progress (WIP), billing, and reviews
• Efficiency: Expected to lift the sophistication and efficiency of the Pod's output and processes.

  
Client & Advisory   

• Client Base: Manage an inherited client base where common industries include manufacturing and construction
• Relationship Management: Maintain and foster strong client relationships, serving as the primary trusted advisor
• Advisory Focus: Drive value by leading tax planning activities and actively identifying advisory opportunities within the client base.

Growth & Business Development

• BD Exposure: Have direct BD exposure and actively participate in meeting prospective clients alongside Partners

  
What You'll Bring   

• Experience: Proven managerial experience (Manager or Senior Manager level) within an Australian Public Practice accounting firm
• Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage, mentor, and review the work of a team of accountants
• Technical Expertise: Exceptional technical knowledge in tax and advisory, with experience serving complex SME clients (experience with manufacturing and construction is highly advantageous).
• Commercial Acumen: Strong experience managing workflow, WIP, billing, and achieving targets
• Communication: Excellent leadership and presentation skills for client and prospective client meetings
