We are currently seeking Expressions of Interest from Assistant Underwriters and experienced Underwriters to join a specialized team focusing on complex commercial and corporate risks.
Following a strategic focus on complex, high-value risks, our Melbourne CBD team is expanding across two key positions.

Opportunities Available Across:

• Construction & Engineering
• Heavy Commercial & Corporate Property (London Market & Local)
• Specialty Lines & Technical Risk Placements

Roles Currently Recruiting:

• Assistant Underwriter: Supporting Senior Underwriters on complex accounts. Open to entry-level candidates/graduates OR 1–2 years of general insurance experience looking to specialize.
• Underwriter: High-level technical risk assessment, pricing, and broker negotiations. Pure technical role with zero people management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assessing, pricing, and structuring complex risk submissions within delegated authority levels.
• Managing end-to-end policy processing, documentation, and operational support.
• Negotiating non-standard risks and building strong relationships with key broker partners.
• Interpreting technical wordings and ensuring portfolio profitability and compliance.

We’re Looking For:

• Relevant Tier 1 / Tier 2 or ANZIIF qualifications (or willingness to complete).
• For experienced roles: background in London Market, Construction, Heavy Property, or Commercial Underwriting/Broking (Property backgrounds transfer easily).
• For entry-level roles: strong academic record, sharp analytical capability, and a proactive mindset.
