Finance Business Partner
Finance Business Partner | FP&A & Group Reporting $150,000 to $170,000 + super + bonus of up to 15%
Leederville, WA
Hybrid, 3 days in office
Most FP&A roles hand you an established reporting pack and ask you to keep it running. This one asks you to build; a new capital and investment reporting framework, an uplifted Power BI suite, the groundwork for an Enterprise Performance Management system and you present the results to Executives and the Board.
If you are making your first move out of professional services, or you want commercial breadth a divisional finance role cannot give you, this is a strong step.
About the business Our client is a major construction and property group, headquartered in Leederville.
About the role You report to the FP&A Group Reporting Manager and sit at Group level, working across every Division. There are no direct reports, so you lead through influence, partnering with FP&A Business Partners, General Managers, Group Finance and Executive General Managers in both states.
What you will do - Lead monthly Group performance reporting: consolidate financial and operational results, draw out the insight, and present it clearly to Executives and the Board
- Run the quarterly forecast and budget cycle, including the models and templates Divisions use, and drive continuous improvement in forecast modelling
- Build the scenario and sensitivity work that shapes the Group position, with recommended actions attached
- Set the BI roadmap and support the team to develop new Power BI reporting the business actually uses
- Lead the methodology, data, governance and reporting for the FY27 AASB S2 climate-related financial disclosures, and the modern slavery report
- Develop Group capital reporting, support an updated Capital Management Policy, and build the investment business case and monitoring tools used with the Executive and Board
- Lift FP&A capability across the function through better tools, templates and knowledge sharing
What you will bring - Depth in FP&A, commercial finance, business partnering or advisory, with the confidence to operate across a large multi-entity group
- Strong financial analysis, planning, forecasting and modelling, with advanced Excel and PowerPoint
- A track record of producing insight and recommendations for a senior audience, drawing on multiple data sources
- The ability to make complex financial information clear to people who do not work in finance
- Experience delivering to accounting or professional standards
- Comfort collaborating across multiple finance teams and locations
- The legal right to work in Australia
Highly regarded, but not essential - Power BI, or other BI reporting build and roadmap experience
- ERP exposure, ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365
- AASB S2 climate disclosure or modern slavery reporting experience
- Construction, property or a related sector
- Predictive or statistical forecasting techniques
What's on offer - $150,000 to $170,000 plus superannuation, plus a bonus of up to 15%
- Hybrid working: three days in the Leederville office, two from home
- Executive and Board exposure from the start, in a genuine Group level role
- Build work rather than maintenance: climate reporting, capital frameworks, BI and EPM
- Scope across two states and every Division of the Group
- A finance function being deliberately built towards best in class, with capability uplift as part of your remit
