Senior Accountant

The Opportunity This role is flexible, suitable for a strong Intermediate Accountant ready to step up, or an experienced Senior Accountant seeking stability and progression. You will manage a diverse client base that includes SMEs, primary producers, and successful individuals, playing a vital role in delivering comprehensive tax and business services.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation and review of financial statements and income tax returns for various entities, including companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals.
- Managing a dedicated portfolio, acting as a primary point of contact for client queries.
- Providing proactive tax compliance and general business advisory under the supervision of Managers/Partners.
- Assisting with complex advisory and tax planning projects.
- Maintaining high standards of accuracy and ensuring compliance with Australian accounting standards and tax law.
- (For Senior Candidates): Reviewing work prepared by junior staff and providing guidance and mentoring.
What You'll Bring
- Experience: 2–5 years of experience working within an Australian Public Practice accounting firm.
- Education: A tertiary qualification in Accounting or Commerce (or equivalent).
- Professional Study: A desire to pursue or actively studying towards a CAANZ or CPA qualification (study support is provided by Our Client).
- Technical Skills: Strong technical knowledge of Australian taxation law. Proficiency with key accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB) and tax preparation software.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and a proven ability to manage client deadlines.
